Find your way around

Start by checking the workspace name in the top bar. The same account can belong to several workspaces; switching changes the content you work with.

Library is the source; Context is the explanation. For the Product Launch exercise, upload the launch brief to Library and write the team's current plan in Context. Updating a reference file does not automatically rewrite an approved Context page.

Read the screen

Many content screens use three areas:

  1. Explorer or list: choose a folder or item.
  2. Reader: view the selected content and its tabs, such as View and History.
  3. Details: check properties, versions, citations, or links.

Hide or reopen panels using their controls. On a narrow screen, navigation and details may open as a drawer or sheet. If a tab is marked Preview, its behavior is still being refined; if it says unavailable, use the main reader or list.

The top bar's search opens workspace search. The Create menu offers entry points such as a new Context page or Ask session. A missing action often reflects your role, not missing content.

  • An internal workspace link requires sign-in and access to that workspace.
  • A public page link opens the separate read-only published page.
  • A page's History shows content versions. These numbers, such as v3, are page revisions, not the dtxWiki software version 0.1.2.
  • Chats and Ask serve different purposes: external tool provenance versus in-app questions.

Common navigation problems

“I opened a link but cannot see the page.” Check the account and selected workspace. Request membership from the Owner if necessary. A link does not grant membership.

“An old tab stopped loading after an update.” Use Load the latest version or reload the page. If you were editing, first preserve any text still visible locally.

“I cannot find Chats or a create button.” Some areas and actions require Editor or Owner access. Ask your Owner which role you need.
