Explore document graphs

Open a Context page and select Graph. The local graph starts from that page and shows relationships you can read. It is available independently of the workspace Knowledge Map switches. The local graph and Knowledge Map are Preview features.

Connect two pages

  1. Publish Launch plan and FAQ in your practice workspace.
  2. Edit Launch plan and insert a link to FAQ using the page completion or its workspace link.
  3. Save the draft, then Publish the updated version.
  4. Open FAQ, then Graph. Select the link and inspect Details.

Expected result: the connection can appear around the linked document. Authored links and document citations come from the source page's current published version. Saving a draft, even one other Editors can read, does not add its links or citations to the current graph. Publishing replaces the source's current relationships. A line shows a recorded relationship; it does not certify that the documents agree.

To add a citation, use the editor's References panel or Citation chooser, select Cite in text or Add to references only, save and publish. Citations can target Context, Library or Agent documents. The graph includes Agent citation relationships and an Agent document cue. See Images, links, and citations for the complete authoring steps and unresolved-citation warnings.

Choose the question and scope

Graph viewUse it to answerLimits
Current relationshipsWhat is connected now?Current visible links, citations, read-together signals and folder relationships; no timeline.
Change historyWhen did a relationship appear or change?Recorded additions, removals and document versions; coverage may be partial.
Activity historyWho or which tools used this document?Recorded edits, reviews, Ask and MCP activity with session context; not a complete audit log.

In Current relationships, Relationship scope offers Direct connections, Neighbor connections, and Two-step expansion. Direct shows relationships touching a starting document. Neighbor connections also includes relationships among its direct neighbors. Two-step expansion reaches through those neighbors. Display and inspection limits still apply.

Select another Context node and use Expand to add its neighborhood. Up to eight starting documents can be expanded together; use Collapse before adding another when the limit is reached. The original starting document stays in the graph.

History views use direct connections with recorded session context. Choose an event with Previous/Next or the timeline before reading Details. Play starts playback only when requested; with reduced motion it reveals one event at a time. Partial, Reconstructed and Unsupported coverage labels limit what you can conclude about the past. Returning to Current relationships restores the current scene.

Read relationship meanings

RelationshipMeaning
LinksAuthored connections from currently published source pages.
CitationsPublished document references or retained evidence pointing to accessible Context, Library or Agent material.
Read togetherAn association supported by recorded MCP conversations, not factual evidence. This appears in document Graph tabs, not the workspace map.
MembershipA folder contains a document.
ActionsA recorded edit, review, retrieval or other action, rather than an authored link.

Use relationship toggles and More filters to narrow the scene. Inspect What was left out when a node or relationship limit is reported. An empty view may reflect filters, missing historical coverage, unpublished sources or unavailable targets.

Inspect retained citation evidence

In Current relationships, select a citation relationship. Where supported, Details shows Retained citation evidence for the source document's current published version. It is not an evidence panel for an arbitrary historical timeline event. The same panel is available for a selected citation in Knowledge Map.

FieldHow to read it
Source versionThe published version that retained this evidence; the UUID is not a page revision number.
Citation type, Verification statusThe recorded type and verification state; neither is a fresh fact check.
Cited Context version, Cited Library version, Cited artifactExact retained version or extracted-artifact identifiers, when present. They can differ from the target's latest version.
Original locationStored location information, displayed as JSON; it may describe a section, page or other source position.
Recorded via and an excerptHow the evidence was recorded and the retained passage, when available.

A relationship can exist without retained version or artifact evidence. The empty message means this panel has no such readable retained records; it does not mean the document reference is invalid or that no citation exists. Newly authored document references need not have the older retained evidence fields. Use Load more evidence when offered, or Retry citation evidence after a load failure. Opening the linked source and checking the claim remains your responsibility.

Choose View as list. Tab into Nodes or Relationships, use arrow keys or Home/End to highlight an entry, then press Enter or Space to select it and reach Details. Use Open to visit the destination. Selection highlights direct connections; click empty space or press Escape to clear it. Hover shows a label without changing the selected relationship.

Use Fit graph, zoom or fullscreen when more room helps. The static view and accessible list remain available when the interactive renderer fails; both reflect the same bounded scene. Show in Knowledge Map is offered only when your Knowledge Map Labs choice and the workspace setting are both enabled.

If a new connection is missing, check the source's published version, the citation target's availability, filters and coverage before refreshing. Operators can use graph maintenance.
